Needing Your Help

My current project seeks to answer how those in the death care industry AND/OR those who have a strong belief in the miraculous approach death. I believe both groups of people can teach us how to offer care to those who are dying or to those who are grieving the death of a person.

IF YOU ARE:

1. an employee in the death/dying care industry, who is one of the following:

• funeral director and/or mortician

• hospice employee who is a: chaplain, nurse practitioner, Advance Practice Provider, RN, LPN, social worker, physician, or music therapist

you may qualify for an online survey.

The online surveys, which are open to those of any belief system, are divided into two parts: classification questions and open-ended questions. The classification questions help to determine employees’ eligibility for the project, and if they qualify, they will be presented with three open-ended questions and a fourth open-ended question that is OPTIONAL. The survey will take approximately twenty minutes to complete. Participants are anonymous unless they choose to identify themselves.

OR

IF YOU ARE:

2. a Pentecostal/Charismatic who is over the age of 21 and identifies as one the following:

• A family member or close friend who was the primary hospice contact for a Pentecostal or Charismatic friend or relative on hospice. It is requested that the death of the person who was on hospice be no more than 4 years ago.
• Funeral directors or morticians—must be certified or licensed in their occupation and serving in this capacity for a minimum of one year. Retired persons in this field will be considered.
• Hospice employees as specified below:
  • Hospice chaplains
  • Hospice music therapists
  • Hospice Advance Practice Providers, Nurse Practitioners, RNs or LPNs
  • Hospice social workers
  • Hospice physicians/medical directors

you may qualify for a 60-90 minute survey interview via Zoom.
